Little Pumpkins Playtime - What's it all about?

This is where it all began, this is where the hard work started and this is where the dream became a reality.

Little Pumpkins Playtime started exactly 6 years ago after some words of advice from my sister, play is my passion and my expertise and I wanted to create a welcoming space where play was at the heart of learning.

The first session started on the 30th June 2017 and since then I have had the pleasure of meeting so many families and welcoming them into the craziness that is a Little Pumpkins Playtime session.

Be Weird Be Wild Be Wonderful Playhub was born with the essence of Little Pumpkins Playtime at its heart. These sessions have stayed on our morning timetable and are incorporated into our parties and events, we have also welcomed more play specialists to the team who hold that same passion for play.

So what can you expect from a session?

Most importantly you can expect a huge welcome. I know from experience how daunting it can be joining a new group for the first time, so please know that whatever you have had to deal with already that morning, you will settle straight into all the session will bring.
Secondly no pressure. If your little one would rather stay in the sandpit than join in with the singing or activities, that is absolutely ok, it's on their terms and their pace, don't ever worry, they will join in when they are ready.
Support. We are there to guide you through the play opportunities, if want to know how your little one can access sensory play or how you can support language development - just ask.
A little bit extra. if you've forgotten to bring a towel and your little one decides they want to have a splashing good time in the water tray, don't worry, we come armed with plenty of spare ones you can use.
Good Coffee. come in anytime after 9am, grab that much needed latte and settle yourselves in, no rush, you can then enjoy your coffee throughout the session in one of our travel mugs.

So what happens in the session?

Little Pumpkins Playtime offers a structured stay and play session and activities for preschool, toddlers and babies under 5 years, encouraging curiosity through planned learning opportunities. Each of the activities can be adapted to suit the ages of the children attending the session showing how the play can be developed.
